Sorry, unlike the last post, this will not be a list of pointers on how to fall in love. It would be absurd for me (alright, yes, me in particular too, that would be absurd) or anyone to “teach” someone how to fall in love. Falling in love is so unique to each individual, even to each time. To imagine that I could tell you how to fall in love would be utter fantasy when you think about it. We are such complex individuals and we are constantly changing, what is true for one person is absolute repulsion for another. And then the whole actual experience of falling in love is indescribable. Can you describe it? And even if you did, would you think that you were describing someone else's experience at falling in love? And on top of all that, if I taught you how to fall in love, even if I could describe it to you, would that make you fall in love? Would that help you to fall in love? No, falling in love is falling in love, it just is.
Oh you saw this coming, didn't you....
Meditation is like falling in love! No, don't worry, I'm not even going to say that, 'cause it's just not true. BUT, there are aspects of it that are a little similar:
the feeling is pretty indescribable, it's unique to each person, it changes all the time, it doesn't always last (sorry about that), it can happen when you least expect it, and, honestly, it happens when you let yourself fall (not when you grasp for it or pursue it).
All of this is to say that when people tell you that there's no one way to meditate or that there is no answer, it's not because they're trying to keep some secret from you, it's because it's the nature of meditation.
And now you hate me because you're stuck in the same spot: you still don't know how to meditate. Welcome to the club, neither do I....
